Tori and Wilson’s garden wedding on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee was one of our favorite Spring events last year! The couple hired us for floral design as well as coordinating. So Stephanie and Kelly took the lead on the floral portion, while McCaull did what she does best, organized and coordinated everything beautifully!
Garden Wedding Flowers
We absolutely loved designing the girls’ bouquets because of the dreamy lush floral combinations Tori and I decided to use in our design meeting. Those big blush peonies were the starting point, and I shared with Tori that I LOVED using a local flower farm, Creekside, for fresh local spring blooms. I’m so glad we were able to incorporate Creekside’s butterfly ranunculus, scabiosa, anemones, and oralya. We also brought in some Roseanne brown lisianthus for that darker pop of plum/mauve color. Then we used a little bit of mini variegated pitt, honeysuckle vine, and eucalyptus to finish off the gardeny look.
The Garden Wedding Setting
The venue Tori and Wilson chose was Lookout Mountain Club in Chattanooga, TN. I love how this property has a garden area with that stunning natural rock backdrop, as well as an indoor space, the Fairyland Club, with ballroom and all the necessary wedding amenities.
The ceremony took place out in the Gardens on a gorgeous April Spring day! We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Kelly and I loved designing this arbor installation on the wooden arbor built by the groom!
Funny story; the couple wanted the arbor moved into the ball room to use as the backdrop to the head table. So, during cocktail hour, Kelly and I began carrying in this arbor. We’re both strong capable women, but this thing was getting the best of us! It was much heavier that it looks, and the gardens are a little bit of a rocky/hilly walk from the building.
Some local middle school boys were riding by on their hoverboards, and noticed us struggling with it. So they stopped and asked if they could help. We gladly accepted, and by having 4 people carrying the thing, we were able to tip it down and carry it just like a tabletop with ease. If I could find those boys and pay them for their efforts, I would! Kelly and I thanked them profusely, and sent them on their way.
The reception was took place in the venue’s ballroom, with a terrace off to the side for cocktail hour where there’s a gorgeous overlook. Overall it was a beautiful wedding day with lovely people, and we were so so honored we could work on this very special day with them!
