The Lavender Vine Rebrand

Rebranding from Lang Floral Designs to The Lavender Vine

Take a look at the process of rebranding my own business, Lang Floral Designs, with a 10+ year history in the Chattanooga wedding industry, to The Lavender Vine, my new branding and web design studio!

THE STORY BEHIND THE REBRAND

I went to college for Graphic Design and Advertising, and started my career as a young adult in that field. Early in my career, I started doing wedding flowers as a side hustle. I loved the hands on design work, and the potential a business of my own afforded myself and my future family.

Then, when I started having kids, I quit my 60+ hour/week graphic design job to building my floral business and raise my babies. This was a way I could work out of my in-home studio, and be more present for my kids as they grew. What an incredible privilege it has been to work mostly from home during their childhood! But also, it took grit and hard hard work to grow a business in those early years with zero business knowledge.

If you fast forward about 9 years, you would see me as a successful wedding florist, business owner and mom whose identity is totally wrapped up in all three…with joy!

As a Christian with a longtime history with the Lord, I’ve learned to submitted myself, my family, and my business to Him. Back in the Fall of 2023, I felt God drawing me to transition out of doing wedding flowers. It took a little convincing, and a lot of prayer to feel settled into this new direction for my career. But while I was seeking the Lord’s vision for my future, He gave me this little picture of plant cuttings being propagated, growing roots, and getting planted. I’ve learned that in allowing something to be pruned from myself, I can share my knowledge, experience, and passion with others in a way that can allow them to grow.

So, when I embarked on rebranding Lang Floral Designs, I knew I wanted to bring that symbolism in. The lavender flower in my brand is a nod back to my roots in the floral industry, and also symbolizes devotion and peace. And the vine represents that picture of the plant cutting and new growth I had in my mind in the early and very challenging days of submitting this road to the Lord, when I didn’t know where it would take us.

The Project

I created my old Lang Floral Designs logo in 2018, so it was about time for a refresh anyway. I also found that with just that one circular lock up, it sometime boxed me in. So I knew I wanted some more options with my new brand.

The FINAL PRODUCT

So, with the Lavender Vine, I wanted to spend a little bit more time creating a full branding package with multiple logo lock ups, several logo marks (without the words), all within a cohesive look to fit within my overall “brand”.
