The Enchanted Florist
A Wedding Florist in Tacoma, Washington
I love sharing about the process of a project like this from start to finish. It gives me an opportunity to show you some of the designs that were left “on the cutting room floor”, and let you see inside the entire process of dialing into a brands true identity.
If you don’t know me, I’m Stephanie Lang, owner of The Lavender Vine in Chattanooga. I spent 10+ years as a wedding florist here in Tennessee before recently switching back to my original career path in graphic design…but this time, on my own terms. Earlier in my career, I worked for other companies. Now, I work for my own business, The Lavender Vine, helping other wedding pros and creatives through branding, web design, and business coaching!
So follow along, as I share the basic steps of a Branding & Web Design Project with you:
1. Discovery Zoom
I met with Lisa over a 30-minute Zoom just to hear a little about her project needs, so I could give her an accurate quote.
2. Onboarding
After deciding what mix of services and add-ons Lisa wanted, I sent her an invoice to pay the deposit, and sign the contract.
3. Branding Discovery + Round 1
Lisa and I met again over Zoom for about an hour and a half to talk more extensively about her business, her brand identity, and meaningful elements that she wanted to see in her rebrand. We looked at some samples so I could get a better idea of her style, and talked colors as well.
Before this meeting, I had Lisa fill out a Brand Discovery Form to basically brainstorm ideas. Then, during our meeting while we were discussing visual elements that would truly feel like “her”, I noticed she kept mentioning Olive, her vintage VW bus that she uses for floral deliveries and photo shoots. She lit up every time she mentioned the bus, so I suggested we use in as an icon or a sort of “mascot” for her business.
Lisa loved this idea, but liked some other ideas like incorporating a fern, sage greens and neutrals, and leaning into the enchanted idea.
So for Lisa, it was really important that we explore several fully formed ideas so she could see which one felt more like her. Concept 1 was an immediate hit!

4. Review + Round 2
For round 2 of the process, Lisa just suggested a few shape/layout changes, and I love how those turned out!

5. Round 3 + Final Files
While Lisa has an option for a 3rd round of minor revisions, she didn’t need any. Typically, Round 3 isn’t really necessary if one of the original 3 options is a home run. If they aren’t, we usually need more work on round 2 to hone in on what the clients loves, and round 3 to refine and finish.
I created her file package complete with vector files, PNG’s, JPEG’s, PDF’s, fonts, and a Branding Guide.

6. Website Design Meeting + Home Page Design
Now that the branding had been finalized, it was time to start discussing the website. Lisa already had a website in Wix and was familiar with it’s interface. So, we discussed her needs for her new website a bit, just so I could make sure Wix would still suffice. It would, so we met to discuss the reorganization of info, clarity, an easy user experience, and of course DESIGN!
7. Home Page review
After our meeting, I got to work created the back end design element of the website, until I had the HOME page to my satisfaction. I always like to get the clients feedback after the Home page is designed, just in case there is something with the overall look and feel they want to tweak. After showing her a few design variations, Lisa gave her feedback and I got the greenlight to proceed on the remaining pages.
8. Remaining website design
I completed to rest of the website, and allowed Barb to review it again. After a few minor edits, it was ready to publish!
9. Publishing + Mobile Responsiveness
I published the website, tested everything out, and edited the mobile responsiveness, which is how it looks on different devices like phones and tablets.
You can check out the website for yourself HERE.

If you love this branding and website outcome for one of my clients, and envy one for yourself, I’d love to chat! If your current branding or website don’t feel like they truly reflect how excellent your work is, it might be time to hire a professional to walk you through a strategic refresh!
